Vehicle Fire at Car Dealership
Vigilant responded as a second-in company for the report of a vehicle fire at Liberty Motors on Clinton Street. Upon the arrival of first arriving units they found one vehicle fully engulfed, already spreading to a second, with the fire impinging on the block and frame structure they were parked in front of. There was a slight breeze coming out of the west. If the wind would have shifted responding units would have had a full fledged structure fire.
Dispatched at approximately 02:30 hrs. on Saturday December 03, 2005 it was a cold crisp night. Union Engine one was the attack crew with Vigilant supplying the dedicated water supply. Vigilant and East Seneca assisted Union with suppression and overhaul. The thermal imaging camera was also utilized in checking for extension into the structure. The fire was extinguished with two 1 ¾ hose lines. The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes. The Town Fire Investigators were called to the scene to investigate further.

Firefighters advance a hand line towards the burning vehicles.
