A rapid response for this morning’s report of a structure fire.
Vigilant, Seneca Hose and Union were alerted for a possible structure fire, flames showing on the outside of the building. This morning was sunny; however breezy, which would have blew the fire directly into the roof and attic. Workers two doors down noticed the fire and reacted quickly. They called 911 and applied water to the fire. Vigilant 9-1 was first on location and called the fire under control. The responding apparatus checked for extension into the house and extinguished the balance of the mulch. The mulch ignited the driftwood and other decorations along with the hose reel. The fire did not enter the house due to the composite siding. Units were out for 30 minutes and back in service.
